40 Years of 5 Star Service in the Shipping Industry

Q: How many trucks do you have…? What kind of trucks do you have…?

We have a carefully maintained fleet of Peterbilt 379’s, plus “The Old Goat,” which is the first truck that, Thomas Stratford ever owned (a 1974 International Harvester 4300 Transtar).

We also have a number of dedicated owner-operators, which brings our total fleet to ten tractors.

Q: What kinds of trailers do you have…?

Most of our fleet is comprised of 48’ spread-axle flatbeds. We also have 48’ stepdecks, a removable gooseneck trailer (RGN), an extendable double-drop, an extendable flatbed, and a 40’ hotshot.

Our owner-operators mostly pull 48’ spread-axle flatbeds.

Q: What “lanes” do you run…?

Most of our work stays within Arizona. Out-of-state “lanes” typically include points in Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.

Q: You have a brokerage…?

Stratford Transportation is the brokerage arm of our business. We are licensed to handle freight anywhere within the continental 48 states. We can accommodate your loads for pick up and delivery, anywhere, at any time.

Stratford Trucking is the trucking arm of our business; as noted above, our trucks generally stay within the states of Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.

Q: Do you do over-dimensional, over-size, over-length, over-height, and over-weight freight…? Will you handle specialized commodities…? Are you licensed for HAZMAT…?

Yes! We specialize in “the unusual.” With our 40 years of experience, our excellent office staff, and our highly professional, experienced drivers give us an edge when dealing with over-size and over-length commodities.

We are not licensed to handle HAZMAT freight.

Q: What are your rates…?

Each load is handled on a case-by-case basis. Because of the specialized nature of our work, we cannot give our customers “blanket rates.”

To request a rate, please call our dispatchers.  Be prepared to give them a detailed description of your shipment, the pick up location, the drop off location, and when you would like it shipped. Our dispatchers can give you your rate at that time.

Quotes are always good for 30 days.

Q: Will you come to my business/jobsite, and look at my freight…?

Yes.  In many cases, if you have something unusual to move, we will offer to come out and look at your load.

Q: How long have you been in business…?

Tom has been in the trucking industry since 1972; he bought his first truck (The Old Goat) in 1976. This is the genesis of Stratford Trucking.

The Brokerage (Stratford Transportation) was started in 2000, and Stratford Trucking was incorporated the same year.
